Portrait of Anne Lister of Shibden Hall (1791–1840). Watercolour over pencil. In her diaries Anne writes ‘There is something so very characteristic in the figure.’ and it is ‘an admirable likeness’.
The portrait, unattributed, bears similarities to another done by Mrs. Taylor of Horton Street, Halifax. This portrait is held by West Yorkshire Archive Service, Calderdale (SH:2/M/19/1/1).
